Adobe released the last version of Flash Player on 8th December 2020. As it was announced by Adobe on 25th July of 2017 that adobe will stop updating and distributing the Flash Player at the end of 2020.
Flash Player EoL was in the context that open standards like HTML5, WebGL and WebAssembly have matured, and provide many of the capabilities and functionalities that Flash plugins pioneered and have become a viable alternative for content on the web.
Adobe has answered most of the FAQs for both General and Enterprise users.
In short adobe will stop supporting Flash Player after 31st December 2020. Adobe will block Flash content from running in Flash Player from 12th January 2021 to help secure users systems. They also strongly recommends all users immediately uninstall Flash Player to help protect their systems.
The top browsers developers have already decided, what they will be doing with EoL of Flash Player.
Microsoft Internet Explorer and Edge
Microsoft announced on 4th September 2020 that It is ending support for Adobe Flash Player on Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer 11 at the end of 2020.
Chrome
Google provided the Flash roadmap. Flash Player will be blocked as “out of date”. The target is Jan 2021 for all Chrome versions.
Firefox
Firefox will stop supporting Flash Player with the release of Firefox Version 85. Its release date is 26th January 2021. Mozilla has also answered some of the questions with the announcement of end of support of Flash Player.
